I was a bit concerned after reading mixed reviews about the blanket having a strange odor and shedding badly. I haven’t washed it yet as it is an accent blanket at the foot of the bed, so I can’t speak to that. But I do not notice a strange odor. This blanket is a great quality and weight. We have had this blanket for years!
