Love this ember mug when it works! The charging station buttons keep breaking! I’ve gotten TWO replacement chargers and they all fail after a few months!

I bought this approximately 5 months ago to replace my previous two charges that stopped working. Now this one is no longer working. I think there is an issue with these.chargers Ember needs to address

I love my Ember mug but they have got to fix the issue with the coasters. As many others have mentioned, over time one or both pins will get stuck in the recessed position and lose contact with the mug's charging ring. I'm going to try Steve's vinegar fix to see if that works as I've already bought replacement coasters twice.

One of my prongs won’t make contact with the not. Therefore it doesn’t charge.

Big thanks to Steve who wrote the "How to fix those coaster contact pins" article 3 mo ago! I had a recessed pin on my mug and tried his vinegar method (simply place a drop of vinegar on the recessed pin and let it sit for half an hour. It worked like a charm! And even better, after leaving the pin to soak in the vinegar, I didn't even need to pull the recessed pin into place. It just popped up on its own. My Ember Mug is back to charging as I write this. I highly recommend this hack if one or both pins have recessed. And if there's one thing I NEVER want to go without, it's my Ember. It is the one thing I can count on during my long workday to soothe my soul. Thanks to Ember for creating an excellent product and Steve for helping me stay soothed!

My ember charging coaster lasted 2+ years before it stopped charging. No matter what I tried, it just stopped charging. I learned the problem was probably mineral buildup from water, I did the following, and it worked: I used tweezers to pull up on the charging pins. Only one would pull up, indicating major mineral buildup had it glued down. I then sprinkled 1/4 tsp. of baking soda into the base, then poured enough white vinegar on it to cover the inside of the base. I let it sit for about 10 minutes. After pouring off the vinegar solution, I wiped out the coaster with rubbing alcohol, then with a damp cloth. TA-DA! It worked.

We love our Ember mugs and use them daily. But we too have discovered that over time the coaster contact pins will freeze in the recessed position. Upon closer inspection I could see a faint white ring of calcium scale around each pin. I suspect that this may be the problem others are experiencing especially if they have any degree of hard water. But there is an easy solution that will restore those contact pins to their original condition. A small drop of vinegar on each pin will dissolve the calcium. After leaving the vinegar in place for a half hour or more, the pins will usually spring back to life. In some cases, pressing the pins gently with a ballpoint pen while they are soaking will work the vinegar down into the pin holes. After the pins are back in position, dry off the coaster thoroughly, and add a small drop of MTC oil to each pin (a very light weight, non-toxic, culinary oil). This seems to prevent the scale from reattaching to the pins as quickly. We've found that there is no need to replace the coasters, that this procedure works well and consistently restores the contact pins to there original condition.

I have two to cover all my early morning coffees. Considering a third.

Chargers don't hold up. I've had three go bad, and they're stupid expensive. Hopefully my tumbler hasn't gone bad, too - to be determined...
