By reducing surface water absorption, cracking, spalling, pitting, mould, mildew, algae, staining, and other damage and deterioration caused by surface water absorption will also be reduced.

We purchased these for our sink that had a 1.5 inch drain size, and it's hard to find ones that are compatible. Our plumber installed one and found that it was extremely difficult to find a compatible tail pipe as this drain DOES NOT come with a tail pipe, which is in the description of the item. Further, once we removed the item after testing the pop-up capability with water once, the internal components had already started rusting.
