This 1-leaf sliding glass barn door is delivered with an easy-to-install ALU100 sliding system. All our sliding doors are 'top hung' which means the door is hung into the top rail with two trolley hangers; all the weight is taken by the hangers, making the door easier to move. All our doors are made of toughened/tempered glass. Tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the interior into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (annealed glass) does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury. Calculation of the door dimension in relation to the wall opening Add 2" to the width and 1" to height. E.g. I ordered this item for my bathroom renovation. First, it’s quite heavy. Need two people to move it. It is well packaged and arrived intact. The style is very neutral. I haven’t installed it yet so I will update after installation. So far it is a great start! **update** I installed the shower door with my husband. It is simple, but not that easy. Here are a few tips - The door glides on a ball. If you dont install it with the indent on the pole it will rub against the outside mechanism causing it to scratch. We had to adjust it after we scratched it up (pic 3 below). Also, once you place the stationary glass the rolling glass needs to be installed by tipping it under the bar. I absolutely love this and I wish I could purchase a half glass go all the way around. I tried a few glass companies but they don't make this pattern. I will suggest two people to make it go faster but one person you can do it if you have the time. Before installing I would get a good flashlight and check the glass thoroughly as I found a 4 inch hairline crack at the bottom, hopefully I can use some filler and make it disappear. This is for a beautiful handmade glass window panel. This is an elegant designed panel, it would be an enhancement to any window or sun porch or bay window. Came works better in windows with lots of longer, straight lines, came is best suited for crisp hardline work.
