This is a quality mailbox made from sturdy material and it should be for the price. We have had it up for a few days now but the design suits our house perfectly. It is easy for the mailman to put mail into the box by opening the lever vs. stuffing it from the top. It does not lock but the lever is well made and wouldn't come open on its own. There are other lovely mailboxes in similar vintage that are a lot less money on Wayfair but I prefer this one. I particularly appreciate not having to reach down into the box to fish out the mail. Just open and you can see everything. If I could ask for anything it would be for the manufacturer to have Poste/Posta/Lettera or other fun options instead of Mail to give it more of that old world feel that this box is going for. What a beautiful mailbox. We just got our house renovated and I was looking for a mailbox that was more detailed, that would suit a craftsmanship look better. This mailbox is everything and more.
