This is my favorite chair. The cushion is firm but very comfortable. I could sit in it for hours and I do with a book. Quality and wear of the material is excellent. The only negative which many people mention is the lumbar. If it had more lumbar support it would be perfect but you will need a lumbar pillow or else you’ll feel a gap behind your back. The material is not white but a cream. The design has blues and browns and even greys so you can really mix it up with your cushion colors to make it fit any room. I originally had it in my reading loft but too nice of a chair to hide so it’s now in my living room and the pattern brings a welcome addition to straight pattern furniture. This is a beautiful, wider well-built wing chair that can accommodate my 6'5" husband (250lbs) comfortably while he's watching TV in the upstairs TV room. His main complaints are in (1) its depth....it's only 19" and he would have much preferred it to be deeper like a couple others we have; (2) b/c of his height, his head extends above the back of the chair and (3) a minor issue, but the arm covers are a bit too short. We found the density of the cushion to be more 'firm' (which is what we prefer), but that could be a personal observation. As with our other wing chairs, eventually the foam will have to be replaced as they do lose firmness with use. I love the deep brown colour of the fabric which appears to be substantial and heavy-duty ensuring many years of enjoyment. I would definitely recommend this wing chair..
