Wow! Get ready for four large boxes. They are heavy too. This is more on the plain side of a Murphy bed. Of course it’s press board wood. The wood press board is nice. Very, very heavy and thick too. This is stellar! My husband and I took our time putting this together, we wanted to make sure it turned out really well. We split it up into 2 days, also if you have two drills, itll probably be quicker lol. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I do recommend having a second person around, some of the pieces are bigger and you just need an extra set of hands. One reviewer mentioned building it in the room its supposed to go in, and I second that notion. Its a great bed, and sturdy. I love this thing and it doesnt take up too much space. Shipping took a bit longer than I would have expected, but it's a very heavy piece of furniture at 362 pounds and it has to be shipped in four different containers by a freight company. We love the color. It's a neutral gray, so not too brown and not too blue, and the material is solid engineered wood. The directions were good and the hardware is well made and everything fit nicely. It is quite a task to put together, so if you're not experienced it is going to be a challenge. We are experienced, but the only reason we knocked it down from a 5 to a 4 is that no matter what we did - and we followed directions exactly as written - the cabinet would not close completely with the mattress on it. After trying everything we decided to take off the straps that are attached to it, and bend the mattress in half, lie on it to keep it tightly together, and then shut the frame inside. It’s a great space-saving solution that also looks attractive and blends nicely into the room. Assembly took about 6 hours with one person, even though the instructions recommend two people. That said, the directions were straightforward and easy to follow. Most of the pre-drilled holes were properly aligned, which made the process smoother than expected. There was some minor cosmetic damage on one panel and a small gap between panels, as shown in the photos, but both are in areas that aren’t very visible, so it’s not a major concern. While I haven’t fully tested the mattress yet, it seems like it will hold up well for occasional guest use. I did purchase the queen sides cabinet, and kind of wished I would have gone with the full sized. The bed came in 3, very heavy boxes. This mattress is great! I bought the queen size 6” for our Murphy cabinet bed. This fits perfectly on it with no gaps and easily stores inside with no issues. I was a bit skeptical about the comfort level reading some reviews, but once the mattress was fully aired out (left it out to breathe for 3 full days) it reached its full capacity size. The Solid Pine Murphy Bed Chest Cube with charging station is a beautiful piece of furniture doubling as a bed for guests. The unit is extremely sturdy and was not difficult to assemble. The unit supports a Full size tri-fold mattress which can be stored in the cabinet when it is not in use. The unit also features a storage drawer at the base of the unit that overnight guests could store some of their belongings during their stay.
