All of the positive reviews are on point. The colour is a nice light, dirty cream, or some would consider beige - what you would expect with the colour “linen”. The foam is firm, and I just got mine, so I’m not sure if it will soften up with time, but it’s good support. The padding is appropriate on the arms, and the seat is fairly deep. The back is not high enough to easily lay your head back, and I am 5’7”, but if you slouch a bit, you can lay your head back. The buttons are well sewn on, and it specifies a weight limit of 350 pounds, which is very sturdy, and I am 250 pounds, and it holds me comfortably. It’s comfortable enough to hook your leg over the side arm, and I intend to use it with a poof, for added comfort. You have to give credit where it is due and be reasonable in your expectations. For a $500 chair, this is excellent value. It looks lovely, elevates my room to a classier look without being pretentious or standoffish. I got it to pair with my cottage, white walls and a brown leather sofa, and it makes the room look casual yet elegant. We are just two adults, and our dog does not get up on the furniture. If we had children, the colour might not be a good choice, but otherwise the chair would still be suitable. The linen itself is a decent enough quality for the price point of the chair; it feels a bit tough, but it’s still elegant looking and comfortable feeling. This is a versatile chair that can be played up or down. It would look great shabby chic, and in a cottage, French country in a manoire, a lady’s boudoir, or in a room of books where it would look like a vintage English professor’s library.
