I ordered 7 boxes of these tiles, which amounted to 70 tiles in total. Although the packaging seemed quite flimsy compared with other Merola tiles I have bought, only 2 of the tiles had broken corners. Not a problem with Wayfair. They immediately offered me a refund or tile replacement for the broken tiles. Despite this minor hiccup, I have given the tiles 5 stars because THEY ARE SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL. Even more beautiful in person than in the photos. In the photos they seem much darker than they are in reality. They are absolutely gorgeous, and provide that old-world touch of personality I was looking for in my very plain laundry/mudroom with Ralph Lauren Silversmith light grey painted walls and white shelving. I have visited many ancient European ruins, and these are actually reminiscent of something I feel I have seen in Rome or Pompei. In our otherwise quite contemporary home I find these tiles are a welcome statement and add wonderful character to simple rooms. Since we have not yet installed the tiles there is no photo yet, but I anticipate the generous 13" size of the tiles will make installation a breeze. It looks like a beautiful tile but in the shipping box that had two boxes of tile in it, about 40 of them were broken. The third box was packed in a separate shipping box, and that one was fine. The two together must have knocked each other in transit. Note that nowhere on the boxes did it say FRAGILE. Update I actually updated this review shortly after posting but somehow, unfortunately, it remained as-is with only 3 stars. Wayfair quickly sent me two more boxes and I LOVE my backsplash so much that I’m using the remaining tiles as an accent in my shower (the bulk of the tile being plain white matte).
