With the Maddak Tall-Ette Elevated Raised Toilet Seat installed, people with special needs can use a regular western style toilet. The toilet seat frame adds to the standard toilet. It has four legs with anti-skid padding that help it maintain grip even on a smooth and wet floor. The design of the seat allows the user to adopt a posture that is comfortable and easy to maintain. Two handles on either side of the frame make it easy for the user to lower himself onto the seat of the toilet. Durable materials make the frame long lasting. The Tall-Ette Elevated Raised Toilet Seat by Maddak has a total weight capacity of 300lbs.

I have incluson body myositis, an auto immune disease that has robbed my leg muscles (especially the quadriceps), where in recent years, I simply have no strength left in my legs to get off a regular 14 inch toilet even with a 4 inch booster seat, unless there is also well placed grab bars for me to pull myself up and off., which isn't always the case. I do have a special motorized high lift toilet seat at home to help me get off my 16 inch high toilet, it raises me up to 28 inches..almost standing position), when I recently travelled to stay in a hotel, I found that sometimes disabled access rooms are not always available when you need them. Last time, I stayed in the same hotel, I had to struggle to get off a 14 inch high regular toilet in a regular room. With my specific need to have at least 23 inches of toilet seat height, even my 4 inch portable booster seat wasn't enough to allow me to transfer from a 14 inch toilet to my 26 high wheelchair height seat. Also, there were no grab bars available in that room's bathroom, and I had to really struggle to get up. Fortunately my friend and wheelchair van driver, (at the "count of 3" pulled me off the toilet seat, and I was able to get back onto the wheelchair with a LOT of effort. When I got back home, I realized that the 4 inch toilet booster seat was no longer adequate for me for travelling and having no choice but to rent a hotel room sometimes with only a conventional 14 inch toilet and no grab bars. I found just what I needed with this Maddak raised toilet seat with 4 legs. However, even with this Maddak elevated toilet seat, it still wasn't quite high enough for my needs, so I had to have my friend modify it for me to raise the legs and seat, and thereby also the handle height , with additional extra extension legs, so that the overall toilet seat height can now be as high as 26 inches and fully adjustable, between 14 inch toilets and 17 inch toilets), to allow getting easily up from the modified toilet seat to my wheelchair seat height at 26 inches. To make this work, a 4 inch booster seat was grafted onto the Maddak toilet seat to allow 9 inches of total booster seat height, so that the actual booster seat could sit on the toilet bowl rim to take my weight, and the handles and legs were extended using 4 legs taken from an old shower seat. These additional extendable 8 inch legs, now allow my modified seat to allow me to get up on my own. With this additional modification, it solves my needs of being able to use toilet bowl heights of 14 inches up to 17 inches, giving me an adjustable height of max 26 inches.. Daniel.
