Latitude Run® is redefining the planter box. It gives you a good place to grow plants or vegetables, and the various screen panels can not only provide extension space for climbing vines but also a great way to add some elegant décor to your yard or garden space. And again, hiding some outdoor equipment such as air conditioners. You will no longer worry your planters crack when the temperature plunges, as this is made of galvanized metal, more sturdy than wood.
This is a great privacy screen and planter box all in one! It does exactly what I wanted it to do for me. Install didn't go exactly as the instructions said (I had to reverse the screws to install and tighten them), but overall it was pretty easy to put together. Also, there is one drain center hole in the planter box, and I'm not sure how you would/should actually plant directly in the box, so I put pre-potted ferns in it, that way they can easily be removed at the end of the season.. This raised outdoor garden bed makes it easy to start your garden, whether you're growing plants and flowers or cultivating vegetables. It's made from galvanized steel with a durable design that's resistant to rust and metal. We love that it helps keep weeds away from your soil, prevents soil compaction, and provides good drainage. Best of all, it's easy to assemble, since you can get your garden up and running quickly and spend more time growing. It's even offered in multiple sizes and colour options.
These are very nice for the price - and took about 45 minutes each to screw together . 1) the 96” size bows out a bit in the middle once the soil is added . Not terrible though . 2) the edges are SHARP. The instructions say wear gloves but I cut my finger just taking them out of the box . A better warning label might help here . 3) the outer surface is covered with a clear protective plastic that needs to be peeled off. This may have melted a bit on the way here and was hard to remove . Overall very happy with them and would buy again.. Ethan. Flagstaff, AZ. Wed Jun 25 2025
Setting Up Your Raised Garden Beds
There are a few key factors to remember when choosing the location for your raised bed garden: be sure to place your garden in an area that gets at least five to six hours of direct sunlight a day; avoid lower areas in your yard where the soil will stay wet for extended periods of time; and if possible, try to select a location close to your hose, as your garden will need to be watered frequently.
To ensure maximum sunlight for all of your plants try placing your garden so the longest side of the bed faces south. Aligning your bed so one of the shorter sides face south will limit the amount of sunlight smaller plants can get.
Not sure how to place your plants? We have a few suggestions:
How to Prepare Your Soil
It's important to make sure the foundation of your garden, the soil, is in tip top shape before planting anything. Sometimes soil can be a little too alkaline or too acidic - both are harmful to plants. To avoid this, you need to prepare your soil properly.
When using soil from your yard be sure to test the pH; Wayfair sells kits that help make the process easy. After you have your initial reading, you'll be able to better decide what needs to go into your soil first. If your soil is alkaline, you can add ground limestone, wood ashes, or oyster shell. If your soil is too acidic, you can add common sulfur, ferrous sulfate, or aluminum sulfate.
If you'd rather skip the pH test, combining compost with your soil can give your garden the best nutrients and help naturally balance the soil. Different types of compost provide a more comprehensive type of nutrition than just one product alone. Try mixing and matching a few for the best result in your garden.
