I have cats, and BOY can they jump high. I needed a gate tall enough to keep the angry ones away from each other, and this was exactly what I needed. I had so many bad experiences with gates that i purchased from another online seller that I gambled on this purchase. Absolute game changer. It was incredibly simple to install, came with a lot of extra parts that I didn't need to accommodate larger doorways. Installing the gate took about 3 minutes. Unboxing it took about 10 minutes. Although I would have liked it in black (it was out of stock), the function was far more important than the hue, and boy, this gate is everything I needed it to be. It's smooth and quiet! The only thing that could improve it would be some kind of baffle. When the gate slams closed on its spring, it can vibrate for a bit with an audible tone, but I just touch the bars and it stops.. Trying to introduce our new cat to our other cat. It provides a safe barrier that they can see each other through safely. Easy assembly but it is heavy so keep that in mind. It has hinges so the door can open and a lock to lock it in place. It even has a little pet door at the bottom. (sold separately) The Cat Safety Gate Extra Bar is designed for extra protection and narrows the space between each bar or your wall. Please note that Extra Bars do not physically extend the gate further than the original adjuster bolts allow. The Extra Bars are designed to allow for an opening wider than 37.5” without compromising the safety of your pets. While the distance between each bar can be adjusted, we highly recommend that the bars are adjusted to be less than 1.8” from each other to prevent cats from squeezing through the sides of the gate.

I think this is a great item. It is the second one we purchased. We have 3 American Curl cats, curious & loveable but also terrors, zoomers, wire chewers and mischief makers. Two brothers and a sister who can not have total run of the house. The gates let us keep them in the kitchen great room area and they cannot jump or climb over the gates. I would highly recommend this product. It looks good, lets the pets see you and works so much better than the makeshift gates we tried to construct. Bought the first one for entrance to kitchen from garage hallway and when I realized that this gate would fit in the hall to the bedrooms it was a done deal. Thank you for a great gates.. Barbara.
