We have 2 gas meters that were low to the ground. We planted 3 evergreens to hide them as a screen. This spring the gas company replaced the meters and raised them 6 inches. Appears sturdy and easy to assemble. Color was not uniform out of the box - lighter colored streaks in it. Installed about a month ago and some of the cross slats are sagging already, meaning they are bowed instead of straight across. I purchased five of these panels to add interest to our very long and very boring fence. Buyers should note that the panels are designed to be mounted on posts attached to the ends to make a freestanding panel. It took us quite a while to work out how to mount them to the fence. We initially tried to come up with a way to have concealed screws inside the frame, but this turned out to be nearly impossible because the pattern makes the screws inaccessible. Finally we came up with this solution 1) Determined the spacing and installed lug head screws on the fence at the center top point of each panel. Used a level to make sure they were even. 2) pre drilled 4 holes on each side of the frame, equally spaced, and one at the bottom center. Made them a little bigger than the screws to allow for expansion 3) notched the inside top of the frame, and hung the panel on it. Used a level to square it up. 4) used long black screws to attach the panel to the fence through predrilled holes. Do not screw the panels tight, leave some room for thermal expansion.
