This thing a a beast... and in the best way possible! I'm overhauling my home office where I work from home and execute all my craft projects. I wanted a work surface, with drawers. The critical factors for me were to have a unique look (industrial-chic, like this) and high quality. I wanted metal drawers so they don't sag over time like particleboard drawers, and a sturdy unit. I also needed something with height so I could comfortably stand and work. And this unit does not disappoint, here's why:
- All metal frame, metal drawers (like a tool chest, but doesn't look like it should be in the garage)
- each metal drawer (all one piece) has a rubber liner, what a bonus!! to prevent scuffing and noise
- nicely finished wood drawer facing and top surface (5 drawers too!)
- metal pull handles and optional side of unit handle
- two wheels that lock (all wheels have VERY strong threaded bolts that can be used to adjust each corner's height to balance the unit which came in handy for me because my basement floor is 1" lower on one side of the unit than the other!)
- metal tracks for the drawers
- and excellent packaging. This unit is solid and heavy.
- assembly literally is adding the wheels and handle on the side. Everything else is already in place.
Shipping was what I would consider White-Glove, as I was able to schedule the date of delivery, received a 4-hour window when I could expect it on the day AND a phone call 30-minutes before it was scheduled to arrive. The delivery team was friendly and professional. And I only requested the most basic, leave outside service. The pantry beside this unit was also purchased from Wayfair if it's of interest 'Bruch 67.7" Kitchen Pantry.
A few Tips that worked well for us... after removing the packaging outside, we removed all the drawers first to lighten the load. There's a little clip on either side of each draw (right side pushes down, left side lifts up) to release the drawer. I'd recommend using the tape from each drawer handle to tape your tracks in place to prevent the tracks from sliding while moving). We also rested the unit on it's side once in the house, to add the wheels, versus upside down. Be sure to get a buddy to help you move it and flip upright after putting wheels on to avoid putting too much pressure on the first set of wheels. Then wheel it where you like.
