To measure your size correctly, remove the existing vent cover and measure the size of the duct. The duct opening size is what should be ordered. The Ribbon grille is a resin (polyurethane) decorative vent cover that is light in weight yet sturdy and strong. Grilles are unfinished and ready for you to primer and paint to achieve the perfect colour for your setting. Each grille is made using a casting process that allows for a three-dimensional look. Grilles will not rust and are not prone to corrosion which makes them excellent for high-humidity areas and dry areas alike. Ribbon grilles are flat on the back and have no inserts. Grilles should not be used on the floor and are only for wall and ceiling applications for central air conditioning and heating systems. Due to the nature of the curing process, grilles can vary very slightly in size so please take the measurements as an approximate size. With a wooden box built in the floor around the duct opening upon floor installation, the vent will drop in place. The vent is held in the box by magnets, making it easy to remove when needed. It’s a very simple process which avoids having to router or cut your flooring after it has been installed. With a ¼” thick solid oak wood, we are making it easier to resurface the floors in the future. You don’t have to remove vents or buy new ones.
