We purchased it for our 11 year old daughter's room to hold her books, some stuffed animals, games and art supplies. This is a big book case with lots of storage space which is a plus and it works well for that. It's also solid wood, which is another plus because we don't want chemicals from particle board (MDF), off gassing for years in a room where she sleeps and plays.
What doesn't work: sloppy finish, and poor quality hardware. The shelves aren't sanded properly, and feel rough and uneven to the touch. It only has two thin coats of paint, which looks patchy in places, especially on the doors. Also, paint has flaked and blistered in the shelf corners which is a sign that the paint was dried too fast. It came with several scratches on the top though this doesn't bother us too much as this piece of furniture is so tall nobody can see the top anyway, What looks worse is that one side panel has clearly been repaired because you can see where wood putty was applied but not sanded down properly, then painted over. Seriously??!
IT didn't say in the product description that this is a "repaired piece of furniture" or a "second with minor flaws". Because of that I would NOT purchase from this brand again. I was expecting better quality for a piece of furniture that was $2200 + tax!. Svetlana. BC. 2018-08-23 22:51:48
