Once assembled, it looks great and works as advertised. As others have noted, it's definitely a project to get put together. The unit comes in 6 boxes and you'll need help for at least 2 of the assembly steps. The bed has to fit flush to the wall (attached to studs) and the instructions call for cutting the baseboard to make this happen. I didn't want to cut the baseboard (rental unit) so I firred out the back of the unit with 1x painted trim although you could also cut a notch in the bottom of the bed cabinet. If your mounting over an electrical outlet you may need to move one of the back supports up or down to clear the outlet. You'll want an outlet available so you can connect the built-in USB port and maybe put up some lights inside the cabinet. There's a gap between the head of the mattress and the wall when the bed is down, so there's no headboard to lean against, just fyi. This Murphy bed is perfect for our bonus room! It did take 2 people to put together, especially when attaching the front panels to the steel bed frame. Nothing was difficult just took time and patience. We installed in our bonus room and the bed will only get used on big holidays when house is full of family so the quality is perfect for us. If you are using for everyday use be careful not to scratch the surface, it scratches easily. For example if you use the desk and push a chair in too swiftly the white surface may scratch. The lights are a fantastic addition! Especially for the desk use!! I love that we could put art work up behind the bed for when the bed is out. We are very happy with product. The only reason we gave 4 stars is because of the ease of scratching the white surface. Delivery was easy, the truck delivered on a pallet with 3 boxes. (See photo) The boxes are very heavy, we used a hand truck to move first two boxes, the last box was too wide to move like that so we just opened in driveway and took parts upstairs.. Lorianne. This murphy bed desk works well for what I need. The desk is a little bit shallow, but fine for a laptop. It wouldn't be ideal if its your primary desk. The bed is pretty comfortable for only 6" and works great as a guest bed. It is easy to convert between the desk and the bed and was way easier to assemble/install than a traditional murphy bed and much less expensive. It did come with a crack in the desk piece and a marred corner, but it wasn't worth the hassle of returning, so for the price I'm just living with the imperfections.. Amanda. Huntsville, AL.
