Due to a severe accident 10 years ago my knees were severely damaged and now I am very obese and need the seat to be wide and 17 or 18 inches high for my knees...hence I need a very wide chair and seat to floor cannot be 14 or less as commonly found in outdoor lounges.
I wanted to be able to lay out flat with head slightly raised. This lounge advertised as reclining 170° (180°flat), would hold my weight, and was under 200. Still, I was a little skeptical as nothing else I had found anywhere even came close to this lounges advertised 33wide, 400 lb, high seat-floor dimensions. Was it true YES it is! I was also concerned if this chair really would recline as advertised, be solidstable, and the fact it is only 54 long and Im 58. Well...I AM VERY PLEASED!!
It really does recline all the way back (170°), perfect to soak in the sun or read a book or go on my phone. The reclining sensation in the last 10 or 20 degrees is somehow enormously enjoyable and uplifting! It comes with a great little pillow that holds firmly in place and never moves no matter how much you move!
Your feet are LOWER than your head and knees, (which concerned me a little initially, but so far seems to actually help my lower back feel better and my body feels relaxed and comfortable...almost a weightless feeling). For me, the one slightly negative thing (but it is accurately advertised so all stars awarded) is the end of the chair hits the area just above my heels. I discovered wearing shoes makes it so you dont feel the bottom bar on your heels (as said, Im 4 taller than it is long), so that or a pillow makes it perfectly fine for my needs.
An unexpected great bonus is, there are NO set increments when adjusting! meaning it locks in exactly whatever spot you want...and it is very smooth when picking that perfect spot!
I usually read and honestly I dont want 180°. At 170° I have zero neck stress and Im at perfect relaxation and can easily sit up at any time. I actually stopped locking it in place because it seems to hold wherever you put it...so now I can sit up and lay down without delay or adjusting anything!
Design is well thought out - to recline, push on the bottom rail with your feet (that has a black plastic, ribbed piece over the steel tube) and lay back to sit up, just sit up and it glides forward into a sitting position. Well thought out.
I love the tray it comes with too. It takes my eyeglasses, phone, book, and will take 2 good sized glassessteins.
I havent used the comfortable-looking 5 long super thickplush looking pad yet. Theres really no need it is so comfy! Perhaps I will in the heat of summer when there is no threat of rain. Lately its been raining practically every day or at night, but every time I have gone out it is DRY!! I find that bottom sort of mesh material, very comfortable, supportive but not hard, dries fast, and the material (that would go under the pad) is somehow soft to the feel and your legs dont stick to it.
For me I love the armrests too as they help me sit up and or stand up. No part of my body, including thighs and my bottom, touch any part of the frame, ever!
My only wish to the manufacturerdesigner is to design a longer model (optional size Special order). This will make the seat height higher, but a 19 or 20 high seat is comfortable for someone who is tall (510 or 6).
I am so happy to have found this well built, sturdy, comfortable, almost flat, reclining lounge that dries in seconds! (without the pad) A truly usable outdoor summer lounge...2 months of bliss coming up!! And will fold up and store easily come Ontarios winter.
It is too heavy for me, a senior lady, to walk around with, but it was manageable to put it in my backyard. Also, not having to put it together allowed me to enjoy it immediately!!
