I’m an overall fan of the Amaryn platform bed. It has an elegant, yet simple look about it that goes well with many decor styles. We’ve already gotten several compliments on it! The bed looks gorgeous when assembled and is a great value for the price. I paid for expert assembly and it was well done. I haven’t used it much as if yet so can’t speak to durability. Not sure how to alter the tilt of headboard as in description and though it says finished back allows you to place anywhere in room, you can definitely tell it’s a back with the supports mounted there- it is finished though. There are a TON of beds similar to this for much cheaper, but it was nearly half off and several hundred more normally so I went for it. It is someone different than the many industrial look beds out . The mattress shown is 14” thick and not yet expanded. I think there might be a tolerable 1” gap if you got a 12” mattress. It’s really beautiful, all wood, and what one hopes for when getting the cheaper ones, which are fine for dorms. But this thing is really solid and unbelievably heavy. I ordered the queen size in espresso. I was able to build this by myself in under 2 hours. I just put the Golden Girls on the tv and started building! The socket wrench was a blessing. I have a drill but I didn’t need it. The instructions were easy to follow. I took the suggestion of another reviewer and placed the nonskid pads on the legs before assembly. Makes a big difference. I ordered this bed to go with my headboard (also from Wayfair) and it is a perfect color match! However, there are no holes in the bed in order to connect them. No big deal to me, I'll just zip tie them if I have to. So far there have been no issues with sturdiness. The height description is accurate. I wish there had been a 14 inch height option. The top of my mattress sits at about 28 inches from the ground so I feel like I'm a little too high up, but I will get used to it. The package is a tall box. If it needs to be transported to upper level or lower level must have help to do so. I just opened the package and took each piece to upper level. The packaging was great. Instructions were clear. Lots of extra pieces of nuts were given. Can’t go wrong anywhere with assembly. Each piece was very well made. There’s hardly any assembly. It probably takes about 30 minutes to 40 minutes maximum. The wood pieces are solid wood. Has very smooth finish. The texture of the finished surface is soft and gives expensive feel. Perfect solid wood bed for my needs in a guest bedroom! This bed is excellent, high-quality, and really was not difficult to put together. It was as time-consuming to put together as anyone would think for a solid wood queen size bed (maybe 4 hours total by myself). I am overall impressed with the finished look and quality. I really did not want MDF, but rather a solid looking bed. After putting together the headboard and footboard, you can really tell this is quality pine - they are both so heavy and look fantastic. I also really liked the hardware kit - everything came with little labels and the half moon cams felt secure as you are building this wonderful bed. Now, as for the box spring or bed frame, here's a tip: go with the more low-profile ones if you decide to get the metal box frame I would suggest the lower the better. I decided upon a 5" frame since other reviewer mentioned the 9" was way to high after adding mattress. Well, I used 5" and purchased a nice dreamcloud premier 13" mattress, and IMO it's still too high (see images).
