I purchased this easel because it’s good looking and fits into my decor, also has lots of surface area and storage. The pieces were packed very well. Took me about an hour to assemble, the instructions were fairly straightforward. There are a few imperfections in the wood that were carelessly filled. The wood is raw but has a yellowish tinge in spots which may be glue. Assuming the wood will stain easily with paint and marker. Instructions say to prep the chalkboard before using, by rubbing chalk horizontally on the board and erasing it (this is why it looks dirty in the photo). I haven’t tried the dry erase surface yet as I have not purchased the markers. There are plenty of containers for markers, chalk, etc. and a large space in the middle for drying art or extra storage.
