It's what you pay for. The item doesn't look too bad once assembled but the quality of the panels, veneer finish, and parts is not the greatest. As others mentioned, the bottom panel is missing the pre-drilled holes for attaching the metal leg frame (I'd suggest marking the position of the holes by aligning the frame along the bottom panel, using a drill with a small drill bit to do a first hole and then, attempting to put the screws in place. Without pre-drilling, it's hard for the screws to bite through the veneer layer which is very slippery). Same problem with the doors, ours came without the holes for the metal plates for the magnetic closure. After closer inspection, it appeared the door's vertical slat pieces may have been glued on the wrong side of the doors and over the pre-drilled holes for the magnetic closure... (see picture). By the way, the vertical slats are a nice design but don't seem to be well attached to the doors and are already moving - I wonder how long they'll last. The screw driver that's supplied is not the right size and I'd recommend using a Philips screw driver with a larger head so one has a better handles on all the screws. The tiny little black screws that should be used to attach and secure the metal legs to the metal frame are not the right size and do not work - the legs are still holding on ours so they were a little tight to insert but maybe on another frame, it may be a problem. Although the packaging seem pretty decent, some panels came in with chips/dents on the corners and sides (3 of them showed some small spots where the veneer had been chipped or dented).
All in all, looks decent although I find the veneer to be shiny and a bit 'plasticky'. I'm unsure as to the durability over time - we'll see. Be patient and careful when assembling. The cat seem to like it.. Anonymous. . 2025-04-11 11:31:49
