The Gauged Slate Tiles (6" x 24") feature stunning colour tones, providing a sleek, modern look that enhances any space. As a longer subway tile option, these rectangular tiles can be installed in a classic linear pattern or a chic herringbone design, making them versatile for both indoor and outdoor applications in residential and commercial settings. Heat and slip-resistant, they are ideal for shower walls, backsplashes, accent walls, and fireplace facades. Their elongated shape offers design flexibility while showcasing the natural elegance of slate.
Note: Each slate tile varies in colour, shade, and finish. Blending tiles from different boxes during installation is recommended. Natural stone may have dry seams or pits that require filling over time. Sealing with a penetrating sealer is essential to preserve the tile's beauty and durability.

UPDATEDDisaster. I ordered this tile along with the smaller format tile for a significant sized bathroom project. The smaller format tiles arrived in good condition as did two boxes of very carefully packed (see photo) larger format tiles. However, the bulk of the tile required for the project were due a few weeks after- annoying since this held up the project. Worse, the day before they were due I was notified of a "refund" with no further info. After quite a bit of time on the phone I learned that they were "lost in transit" and now "out of stock". This required me to spend more time arranging for the return of the tiles that had arrived. What was the point of keeping the accent wall tiles if the main floor tiles were not available. Incredibly frustrating, will delay my project by months and at the end of the day I am back to square one now, with fixtures, decor and fittings chosen and installed to coordinate with these tile. And I still have to coordinate two separate pick-ups of the tiles I do have. Usually Wayfair is great about getting replacement even if this doubles the wait time but there was no interest in replacing the out of stock product with something comparable quickly. My suggestion would be to order your tile leaving at least twice the amount of time you need - and have a back up plan for when MSI runs out of a really standard tile and/or can't or won't provide a replacement. It is a shame because I like Wayfair quality and variety, but I think I'm limited to small local retailers and big box stores when it comes to tile. Dealing with breakage and delivery is just too difficult.
Out of the blue, a week later the delivery company arrived with my tiles. I was fortunately able to cancel the order I had placed for others. I am so glad this worked out because I LOVE these tiles. They are a true black slate colour, which means a very dark grey, at least until treated. I sealed once before laying and it darkened the tiles slightly bringing out the most gorgeous patterning. I hope adding a second coat once grouting is complete will bring out even more of the detail. The tiles were not particularly carefully packaged but were on a pallet which to my mind is the only way to prevent chips and cracks. One tile so far has had a cracked corner out of the 50 sq feet I have sealed and placed- and that might have been a natural flaw. The tiles are strong and cut well. I would highly recommend this product and will post a pic of the master suite once it is complete.. Cole. Carp, ON. 2024-06-10 14:26:04
